Traditionally, in times of disaster rescue is done by means of helicopters and land rescue team but it takes a considerable amount of response time. Furthermore, there are few areas which are inaccessible to the facilities available. Recently with the invention of UAV’s (drone), aerial surveillance has proven to be of greater use. Earthquake, flood and fire affected areas can be explored only by aerial surveillance. UAVs can be used for monitoring the environment during such situations. But it involves some manual work like the need of someone to scan the video shot by the drone. And there are no proper AI models available to detect people from aerial view.
